We arrived in West Palm Beach, Florida and the weather was beautiful, the sun was shining and it had yet to rain. The 13th annual Barrett Jackson West Palm Beach started bright and early on a beautiful Florida morning April 17th and concluded on April 19th, 2015.

The first car rolled across the block at approximately 11am local time. We had plenty of face-time with previous customers and potential customers while showing off the great installation on the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 that the The Sign Savers of Miami, Florida installed. The Z06 was completely wrapped with XPEL ULTIMATE self-healing paint protection film. The following are all protected from rocks, bug acids, bird droppings and more: the bumper, hood, headlights, fenders, mirrors, doors, rock panels, roof, rear hatch, rear quarters, and rear bumper. It was reported that the owner is an avid racer and takes his vehicle to the race track, which is perfect because it is protected with XPEL ULTIMATE.

One of the more talked about cars during the auction was Herbie The Love Bug. The “oil squirter”, made famous by its design to squirt oil out of the passenger side wheel well, it squirted oil on the police officers foot in the 1977 film “Herbie Goes To Monte Carlo.” After the films were done, the car passed through the hands of a few private owners and museums before being fully restored to his glory days. Now that the car was in pristine condition and it is one of the last ones that are in drive-able condition, the owner decided to put it up for sale. Unlike the movie the car did not drive itself, so the Barrett Jackson drivers drove it across the block…and the car brought a staggering $126,500 USD at auction!

Celebrity Appearances at Barrett Jackson West Palm Beach

We were in the right place at the right time and caught up with WWE Hall of Fame member, Hulk Hogan! Hulk Hogan was there to help raise money for not just one, but three charities which include Connor’s Cure, A HERO Team and The Grace Project. He was auctioning a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, graciously donated by Torque Sports and Performance. With the help of Mr. Hogan, the vehicle sold for an astonishing $150,000 USD.

Our XPEL ULTIMATE film self-heals from light scratches, swirl marks and rock chips while driving or maintaining your vehicle. During the show we use a Brass wire brush to simulate the every day occurrences that can affect the film. With the sun on the display the scratches from the brush instantly disappear. When the sun is not available, you can accelerate the healing process with a cup of warm water or a heat source.

Not all Patterns are created equal

At XPEL we pride ourselves on our pre-cut pattern software. By using a pre-cut pattern you’ll have less to worry about, since the installer will not be trimming the film on your vehicle. Using a pre-cut pattern the film will naturally fit without excessive stretching or contortion, which means the finished product not only lines up perfectly but is free of defects which could be visible once the install is finished.

Contrary to what some may believe it’s possible to wrap edges using a computer cut pattern which gives you a much better protection and installation. With XPEL Technologies Corp., all patterns are available with precision cut wrapped edges where possible. Where a wrapped edge is not possible, for example around the parking sensors on a bumper, reverse cameras and more, the film is always machine cut with precision.
