XPEL and The SEMA Show, a Perfect Match
SEMA 2016
If you could sum the amazing experience of The SEMA Show into one word, what would it be? Some words that come to mind are amazing, breathtaking, phenomenal and that’s just the start. This year at the holy land of everything automotive, located in the heart of Sin City, we debuted not 1, not 2, but 3 fully XPEL ULTIMATE wrapped vehicles. They ranged from hypercars to limited production run cars.
We featured 3 of our paint protection films at SEMA this year, ULTIMATE, STEALTH and ULTIMATE COLOUR, all which are made from XPEL ULTIMATE paint protection film. We also featured our PRIME window films, to help keep these hot cars, cool under pressure. ULTIMATE is our clear paint protection film, STEALTH is our satin-finish clear bra and ULTIMATE COLOUR is our colored paint protection film. For more details about what each vehicle featured, please read below.
Graham Rahal’s Ferrari F12 TDF
We had none other than Graham Rahal’s Ferrari F12 TDF, which is wrapped with XPEL ULTIMATE self-healing paint protection film and much more. Have you heard of Graham Rahal? If not, you may recognize his name from the IndyCar Series. He currently participates in the IndyCar Series with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, a team part-owned by his father Bobby Rahal, the winner of the 1986 Indianapolis 500. We were thrilled when we were asked to have Graham Rahal’s vehicle in our booth this year and we wrapped his entire F12 TDF with XPEL ULTIMATE paint protection film. We had a chance to talk with Graham Rahal, and had a short question and answer session with him, check it out at the end of the blog!

Porsche 918 Spyder and Porsche 911 R
We had two amazing Porsche’s in the booth this year, the first was the Porsche 918 Spyder and the second was the Porsche 911 R. Both of these P Cars featured XPEL ULTIMATE clear bra, ULTIMATE COLOUR, and the windows featured our PRIME XR window film. You may know of the Porsche 918 Spyder, but have you seen the new 911 R? Many publications call it the Purists Porsche, and most won’t be able to purchase one. Porsche is only making 991 examples of the 911 R, which pays homage to the current 911’s generation code.
This is the 911 your parents wish they had, a 500 horsepower, 4.0 liter naturally aspirated flat-six with best of all, a six-speed manual gearbox. Ironically enough, if you were lucky enough to purchase one of the Porsche 918 Spyders, you were automatically included in the pre-purchase program for the 911 R. Talk about exclusivity at it’s finest.
Let’s not forget about the beautiful hypercar, the Porsche 918 Spyder. This is the worthy successor to the amazing Carrera GT supercar, and…it’s a hybrid! The mid-mounted V-8 and electric motors pump this beast up to 887 horsepower and 944 lb-ft of torque, all which would not be possible without the seven-speed PDK transmission. When have you seen a hybrid look this good? We’ll answer that for you, never. Car and Driver said it best,
With two different types of electric motors spinning at two different speeds, a gas V-8, and Porsche’s seven-speed dual clutch gearbox all operating in concert, this is among the most sophisticated powertrains on the road. But occupants feel no transition of power flow between motors and engine. To the end user, it simply feels incredibly fast and unbelievably seamless.

That isn’t all, folks!
If you didn’t get a chance to stop by the Ford Booth or the outside lot, we had a brand new Ford Focus RS that we STEALTH wrapped for Roush at their Roush headquarters, which made its debut at SEMA in the Ford booth. Outside, we had a Polaris RZR 1000 UTV that is also fully wrapped with XPEL ULTIMATE self-healing paint protection film.
Ford Motor Company Focus RS
Ryan Hanna, an XPEL Trainer from XPEL HQ went to Roush Headquarters to wrap this beautiful Ford Focus RS. This RS has XPEL STEALTH applied to the entire vehicle, which gives it a satin-finish effect. STEALTH can be used to transform your glossy paint to a satin-finish. STEALTH can also protect your matte paint from rock chips, road debris and much more. We were honored when Roush contacted us and asked us to wrap one of their vehicles that would be on display at The SEMA Show.
Polaris RZR 1000 Utility Task Vehicle
Some say it’s the most fun you’ll have on 4 wheels in the off-road market, others love the ruggedness and off-road carving suspension and tires. We love everything about this rig, from the big suspension to the meaty tires, all the way down to the exterior wrap. The Avery Dennison Vinyl is protected with XPEL ULTIMATE clear bra. The RZR features XPEL ULTIMATE on the full front end, full sides, roll bars and the roof!
The film helps keep this off-road beast clean and free from rock chips and damage from the mud and everything the off-road courses throw at it. The LED Light Bar features our Light Bar Protection Kit, which is available for purchase on our website, here. Although this offroad beast has aftermarket headlights (which are protected with XPEL ULTIMATE), we have our UTV Headlight Kit available for purchase on our website, here.
“We applied our XPEL ULTIMATE film over a colorful wrap to protect the branding on my Polaris RZR 1000XP body parts,” explained Aguilera. “Next, we contacted Vision X, which outfitted us with all their latest LED lights, including their new RZR headlights, to test our XPEL Paint Protection Film. We had great results from the testing, including zero light output loss.” – Dewey Aguilera, XPEL SoCal Rep
Q and A with Graham Rahal
We had a chance to talk with Graham Rahal, and had a short question and answer session with him. Without further ado, we present the Q and A with Graham Rahal.
Question: What made you consider Paint Protection Film?
Answer: I always love having my cars perfectly protected. I am very OCD, and my cars are truly my pride and joy. While I love owning cars, I do not own anything I cannot drive and use. XPEL’s paint protection film allows me to drive all my cars without worrying about wear and tear caused by normal everyday street use.
Question: How many cars have you protected with Paint Protection Film (Clear Bra)
Answer: I think by now, probably 20-30 cars. I tend to do it on every car I own, whether it’s my F12 TDF or my Ford truck. Everything deserves being treated and cared for in order to keep them in great condition!
Question: Why did you choose XPEL over other brands?
Answer: XPEL has proven to be the great quality product and has given me zero issues over time. It’s resilient, and the product stays very strong and consistent over many washes and lots of use!
Question: Would you recommend XPEL to a friend or family member?
Answer: Always have, and always will. The Rahal family all use XPEL and its something I am pushing harder into our dealerships to help provide that same durability and protection to our customers.
What is XPEL ULTIMATE?
XPEL ULTIMATE leads the industry with its clarity, durability, gloss retention and more. We stand behind our product 100%, so much that ULTIMATE has a 10-year warranty. The warranty covering defects such as yellowing, cracking, staining, blistering and/or delaminating.
Protecting your vehicle has many benefits, for example, it will help maintain your car’s factory finish, make your car easier to clean, help the resale value of your vehicle, all while it is being protected from every day driving.
